Community Memorial Hospital is extremely excited and proud to announce that “The Heart of Your Community” capital campaign has reached the minimum $1.5 million goal. We would like to thank all of our donors for their support and generosity. A special thanks to all of our campaign volunteers for their time and efforts in making this campaign such a success thus far. This is a great accomplishment for the campaign and means that the plans to build the NEW Community Memorial Hospital have become reality. Reaching our minimum $1.5 million goal allows CMH to move into the final design and planning stage with our architects, construction manager, and engineers and prepare for ground breaking this summer. Our campaign efforts will continue as there are many more donors that want to be part of this great project. Additional support will only improve and enhance the plans for the New Community Memorial Hospital
Community Memorial Hospital (CMH) has served us well for the last 60 years. Driven by volunteer efforts and community support, CMH opened January 1st, 1950. Since its opening, CMH has remained a nonprofit private facility that receives no municipal or county tax dollars. Our mission is to provide quality healthcare to the people of Sumner and the surrounding areas, while coordinating other needed services. Although our current facility has served us well for the last 60 years, it presents challenges today in terms of patient and staff flow, patient privacy, infection control, air handling, clinic space, and overall patient comfort and expectation.
We want to continue providing quality healthcare to our area. In 2008, a Master Facility Plan was developed to address several needs, issues, and expectations. After many detailed investigations, the consultants presented 3 plans – remodel in place, remodel in phases, or build a new replacement facility. After much thought, it was determined and voted on by the Board of Directors to move forward with a new facility.
The new facility will feature;
|
|
- CMH Medical Clinic within the building
- meaning direct access to other needed services
- Improved patient rooms
- single occupancy with private toilets/showers
- promotes infection control
- Improved/expanded therapy space
- Enhanced patient privacy and safety
- Compliance with all codes and standards of care
- Flexibility of departments and room for growth
